A downloadable game for Windows

-- Is Anyone Online? --

When you were still in high school, the only social MMO you ever consistently played was Any.One Online. With new virtual reality tech and user-created worlds, you and your friends used to spend hours exploring, dressing up your avatars, and meeting new people in the strange digital environment. But that was years ago: even though the servers are still running, Any.One Online is practically a virtual ghost town. For nostalgia's sake, however, you decide to log back in. What you find is a surreal landscape only barely related to what you remember, a decade’s worth of unsupported code, scattered costumes, and the looming feeling that something's not right…

Made for the sixth Dream Diary Jam using RPG Maker 2003, Pixaki, and the YNFG template provided by the incredibly talented Clockwork Prince. Music by the equally talented Enonigmus, with a bonus track by voxelectrica. More detailed credits can be found in both the game proper and the readme.txt file.

-- WARNING: Game contains flashing lights and rapidly changing colors. Viewer discretion is advised. --

-- Featuring --

  • An original soundtrack to vibe with as you play and uncover some hidden secrets and silly references

I gotta say, I really liked this one. The visuals and theming of this game are really cool and I'd say what has is solid for what it is. This might've been for a game jam... but the game just left me wanting more. The aesthetic is used greatly here with charm I don't see every day, and left me slightly disappointed by how quickly I finished the whole thing. I'd DEFINETELY be down to see this game expanded as time goes on, and I look forward to the future if all the signs and the end card are pointing towards what I think it is... But as it stands, it's honestly solid for what it is.

I'm glad! Thank you for playing!

I'll take "nothing interesting but still enjoyable" lol. Thank you so much for the video and the feedback! You're the second person to bring up the ending conditions, so the next QOL update I make will try to fix that.

I really liked the theme of the game! The art is also super cool, especially the glitchy cover art.

Thank you! I had a lot of fun making it.

Here's my video on the game. Gonna be honest, I wasn't sure if I was playing correctly but I ended up finishing it haha! I really liked the variety of areas.

Thank you for taking the time to play and make a video! “Trial and confusion” is definitely the name of the game when it comes to Yume Nikki Fan Games. I’m glad you were able to complete it!
